  First Epistle to the Corinthians

1:10 - "brothers" - Or brothers and sisters. The plural Greek word adelphoi (translated "brothers") refers to siblings in a family. In New Testament usage, depending on the context, adelphoi may refer either to men or to both men and women who are siblings (brothers and sisters) in God's family, the church; also verses 11, 26
1:26 - "according to worldly standards" - Greek according to the flesh
1:29 - "no human being" - Greek no flesh

2:1 - "brothers" - Or brothers and sisters
2:1 - "testimony" - Some manuscripts mystery (or secret)
2:13 - "interpreting... spiritual" - Or interpreting spiritual truths in spiritual language, or comparing spiritual things with spiritual

3:1 - "brothers" - Or brothers and sisters
3:16 - The Greek for you is plural in verses 16 and 17

4:6 - "brothers" - Or brothers and sisters
4:17 - "sent" - Or am sending
4:17 - "Christ" - Some manuscripts add Jesus

5:5 - "Lord" - Some manuscripts add Jesus
5:13 - "judges" - Or will judge

6:8 - "brothers" - Or brothers and sisters
6:9 - "unrighteous" - Or wrongdoers
6:9 - "homosexuality" - The two Greek terms translated by this phrase refer to the passive and active partners in consensual homosexual acts
6:16 - "who is joined" - Or who holds fast (compare Genesis 2:24 and Deuteronomy 10:20); also verse 17
6:18 - "Every other sin" - Or Every sin

7:6 - "I say this." - Or I say this:
7:15 - "called you" - Some manuscripts called us
7:21 - "slave" - Greek bondservant; also twice in verse 22 and once in verse 23 (plural)

7:25 - "Now concerning" - The expression Now concerning introduces a reply to a question in the Corinthians' letter; see 7:1
